WRST's patent attorneys provide "high voltage" counsel for the electronics, electrical engineering and semiconductor industries.
The EE practice group at WRST provides services in all aspects of intellectual property law for leading international and national clients in the Electrical Engineering-based industries, including in particular the electronics an semiconductor industry, where in-depth hands-on experience in the many different related technologies and their interplay, in international IP Law and an ongoing inside knowledge of these fast-moving industries are pivotal for developing and implementing successful intellectual property strategies. The group comprises a team of patent attorneys, attorneys-at-law and patent engineers, who each have a strong industry and/or private practice background in these fields.   

The technical expertise of the EE practice group covers a very broad range of related technologies, from classical electrical engineering and mechatronics, e.g. for all kind of machines, drives etc. to the latest electronics and semiconductor technologies, including the fields of system architecture and design, integrated circuit design (incl. analog/mixed signal, digital, memory, power), optoelectronics, firmware and software as well as manufacturing technology across all levels from system production through wafer production and semiconductor process technology to assembly/package and testing and production equipment.   




The EE practice group's legal and business expertise extends to building-up and evolving patent portfolios, including preparing and prosecuting patent applications and coordinating the world-wide prosecution of related applications in other jurisdictions, preparing infringement and validity opinions, enforcing and defending our clients' intellectual property rights and interests in litigation before the relevant courts and the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office. We also provide comprehensive consulting in the area of strategic IP management, including strategy definition, innovation and patent portfolio management, IP exploitation, risk management, IP processes and structures, as well as preparation and negotiation of IP and IT related transactions and contracts, such as IPR, technology and software licensing, R&D co-operations, IP in M&A, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
