The attorneys working in the practice group Physics/New Materials (Materials Science) have extensive practical experience in a broad range of technologies. This experience is not only based on a distinguished academic track record, but also, as a rule, extensive practical experience gained in R&D work in industry or research facilities. Our attorneys have an in-depth understanding of our client's technologies, including microtechnology, nanotechnology, optics, optoelectronics, metrology, composite materials, light-weight design, high performance polymers and ceramic materials, advanced textile fibers and functionalized surfaces, among others.

In addition to fundamental patent law firm services, such as drafting and prosecuting protective rights, WRST offers strategic counseling in regard to innovations at all stages, including the evaluation and development of innovation concepts. We also implement and analyze searches in the protective rights landscape leading to valuable opinion work products (due diligence, freedom-to-operate, among others). A further focus of our work lies in asserting the protective rights of our clients and to challenge the validity of protective rights that pose a potential threat to our clients' freedom to operate. Our attorneys represent our clients in the all court proceedings in Germany and in Europe, where they their technology and legal expertise to work.
