Dr. Christiane Maxien
Dr. Christiane Maxien holds a PhD in chemistry and is admitted as German and European Patent Attorney since 2013 and 2014, respectively. She has experience in both organic and inorganic chemistry with a focus on new materials, in particular battery technology.

Technical Expertise
Studies of chemistry and biochemistry (B.Sc., M.Sc.) at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University (LMU) in Munich, gaining particular experience in the fields of pharmaceutical chemistry and organic chemistry (stereoselective synthesis, natural complex substances, antibiotics synthesis, polymers and dyes) as well as in inorganic chemistry (fluorine chemistry, solid state chemistry, molecular inorganic chemistry), with a particular focus on the synthesis of ionic liquids.

2007 - 2009: PhD in inorganic chemistry at LMU on chalcogenophosphates applicable in lithium-ion accumulators.

Intellectual Property Expertise
Dr. Maxien joined WRST in 2010 as a trainee patent attorney and is admitted as German and European Patent Attorney since 2013 and 2014, respectively.

Dr. Maxien is specialized on counseling internationally operating clients regarding strategic patent portfolio management. Her areas of expertise include drafting and filing of patent applications in Germany and Europe, the coordination of international patent filing procedures, as well as defending and enforcing patent applications, especially in opposition and appeal proceedings at the European Patent Office, and conducting of freedom-to-operate analyses.
