Dr. Christian Krauns
Dr. Christian Krauns holds a PhD in physics and is admitted as German and as European Patent Attorney since 2005 and 2007, respectively. Dr. Krauns has an extensive IP network in Asia, in particular in Japan and Korea.

Technical Expertise
M.Sc. (1991) and PhD (1995) in physics at the University of Göttingen (Germany) and the International Superconductivity Technology Center (ISTEC) in Tokyo (Japan), specializing in metallurgy and materials science.

1992 to 1995: ISTEC Scholar at the International Superconductivity Technology Center in Tokyo (Japan) and scientist at the Institute for Metal Physics in Göttingen (Germany); 1998 to 1999: postdoctoral fellow at the Institut Non-Linéaire de Nice and research fellowship at the ISTEC (Japan), gaining extensive experiences in key technologies such as metal physics, metallurgy, material science, solid state physics, semiconductors, catalysis, crystal growth technology and thin film technology.

Intellectual Property Expertise
Active in the field of IP since 2001, first at a well-established German patent law firm with a strong Japanese client base, then at a newly founded patent law firm focused on domestic clients prior to joining WRST in 2010; current focus on patent prosecution in national, European and international proceedings, including attacking and defending patents in Opposition Proceedings; last but not least, Dr. Krauns has gained extensive experience in IP proceedings concerning Asia, with a particular focus on Japan and Korea.
