Dr. Christian Kirchner
Dr. Christian Kirchner holds a PhD in physics and is admitted as German Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney since 2009 and 2010, respectively. Dr. Kirchner's work focuses on the interface between mechanical engineering, physics and biology. He is partner at WRST.


Technical Expertise
Studied physics at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University München (Master's Degree in 2000 and PhD in 2005); PhD work at the Department for Applied Physics, Biophysics and Molecular Materials as well as at the LMU Center for Nanoscience on semiconductor based biosensors with expertise in semiconductor technology, nanotechnology, sensors and materials science.

Intellectual Property Expertise
Active in IP since 2005, first at "Wallinger&Partner", then WRST; German Patent Attorney since 2009 and European Patent Attorney since 2010; current IP focus is on counseling start-up companies in the nanotechnology area and strategic patent prosecution for clients with cross-sectional technologies, in particular from medical engineering; also active in providing due diligence and freedom-to-operate counsel and participating in patent litigation.
